John Amaechi (1970 - )

Born in Boston, British-American psychologist and former professional basketball player, John Amaechi is one of the world’s most high-profile gay athletes and the first NBA player to speak publicly about his orientation. His sports career included stints with the Orlando Magic and Utah Jazz and work as a sports broadcaster and commentator in England, but presently he is the owner of APS Intelligence, an international consulting firm that seeks to improve the culture of the modern workplace. His latest book, The Promises of Giants addresses strategies for leadership in life and at work.
